# Deployment options

> The environments Domino can run in, from customer-managed infrastructure to a fully managed service, and how to choose between them.

## Overview

Some organizations need software running fully within their own infrastructure; others prefer the convenience of a managed service (SaaS). Domino deploys into a range of environments to fit either preference.

## Customer-managed infrastructure

Deploy Domino entirely within your preferred infrastructure, so all data and services stay within your network.

* **Private cloud**: Domino runs in your preferred cloud provider, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), across most regions and specialized environments such as AWS GovCloud. Domino auto-scales resources up and down, and you're responsible for the resource costs, which roll into your normal cloud provider bill.
* **On-premises**: Domino runs on a fixed set of virtual or physical servers you provide. Domino can run in air-gapped environments, including Impact Level 6 (IL6) and Impact Level 7 (IL7) environments.

## Domino Cloud

[Domino Cloud](https://domino.ai/platform/cloud) is a fully managed service (SaaS) that provides the fastest access to product updates and the least operational burden. Domino Cloud can run your workloads in your AWS and Azure regions of choice.

Domino Cloud is certified to ISO 9001:2015, with an ISO 27001:2022 information-security certification and SOC 2 Type II compliance. For certificates and audit reports, see the [Trust Center](https://trust.domino.ai/).

### Validated cloud for life sciences

Domino Cloud is available as a validated offering for life sciences organizations that require Good Practice (GxP) compliance. To learn more, see the [Quality Management System](/cloud/admin/quality-management-system).

## Hybrid SaaS with private compute

Some organizations want a managed service but have workloads that must stay within their network perimeter, for reasons such as data gravity, data security, or specialized compute. In a hybrid SaaS configuration:

* Domino's platform services and user interfaces run in Domino-managed infrastructure.
* You configure one or more private Data Planes in your own infrastructure.
* Domino securely pushes workloads to run in those private Data Planes.

For how Data Planes work and how you choose one, see [Data Plane](/cloud/platform-capabilities/core-concepts/data-plane).
