# Domino Product Version Lifecycle and Support Policies

The following page provides information related to the lifecycle of each Domino product release. Timelines for both Product Patching and Technical Support are covered.

## **Domino Versions: Naming Conventions and Version Types**

Domino's product versions follow a common Semantic Version ([SemVer](https://semver.org/)) numbering scheme, **Ma.Mi.Pa**, where:

* **Ma (Major version)** - Contains new features, fixes, potential platform/technology changes, and may include breaking changes or interface updates that are not backward compatible

* **Mi (Minor version)** - Contains new features, fixes, and potential platform/technology support

* **Pa (Patch version)** - Contains only security updates and critical bug fixes

* **Example:** Version 6.0.2 is on the 6.x major release line, and 6.0.2 is the latest patch for the 6.0 minor version.

## **Domino Release Schedule**

### **Domino Cloud**

Domino Cloud targets weekly updates with new features, bug fixes, and platform/technology support.

### **Domino Enterprise (Self-Hosted)**

Self-hosted releases follow this schedule:

* **Major/Minor releases** - Released roughly every 6 months with new features, fixes, and possible platform/technology support
* **Patch releases** - Released between 30-50 days of the last major/minor/patch release, and includes only bug fixes and security updates (no new features)
* **Patch availability** - Patches are only released for the current minor version. If a bug fix or security issue necessitates a patch release, only supported versions of Domino will be patched.

***

## **End of Patching and End of Support Policies**

These policies apply to all self-hosted Domino versions.

### **Policy Definitions**

**End of Patching (EOP)** After this date, we will not release any more security or bug fix patchesfor a given version.

\*\*End of Life (EOL)\*\*After this date, Domino Support will no longer accept tickets, provide proactive monitoring, or answer technical questions about this version. For support on EOL versions of Domino, customers can purchase extended support.
